CLASSIFICATION NOTICE Re: Group Plan Screenshot Status: Formally Recognized

I. Description of Practice

Group plan screenshot refers to the act of saving an image of a group chat message containing plan details rather than relying on the thread's native scroll and search functions. The practice occurs even when the thread remains accessible, the information has not changed, and no technical barrier prevents retrieval by other means.

The first instance is typically treated as a personal preference. It is not announced.

II. Basis for Classification

The behavior warrants formal classification on the following grounds:

A second person begins adapting to it, which makes the preference look like shared procedure. Once two people have adopted the practice independently, it acquires the characteristics of a rule. It can be taught to newcomers. It can be violated. Its absence can be noticed.

Everyone can see the same messages, yet people still manage context as if access to the thread were unequal. This asymmetry is not real. It is produced by the practice.

III. Governing Condition

Group plan screenshot remains mandatory while nobody volunteers to replace the habit. No replacement has been proposed. No replacement is expected.

The practice has proven durable across the following transitions: new group members joining, the original plan concluding, and the app in which the plan was communicated being updated or replaced. The screenshot survives all three.

IV. Violation Parameters

A newcomer can violate the rule without ever having been told the rule exists. Violation is not punishable through formal channels. It produces a brief observable gap between the violator's behavior and the group's ambient expectation, which functions as its own consequence.

V. Status

Classified. No further review is scheduled. The practice will continue to operate under the conditions described in Section III until a replacement is proposed, which this notice does not constitute.

This classification does not modify the group chat. The original messages remain available. This notice does not alter that availability.
