Consent Has Been Granted for Procedural Survival

The cookie banner was technically navigable. The path through it was designed to be technically navigable.

Reporting Period: This Visit

Status: All cookies accepted.

Background

Upon arriving at the page, the user was presented with a consent interface. The interface offered two paths: Accept All, and Manage Preferences.

Accept All required one click.

Manage Preferences opened a secondary panel containing toggles organized by category. The categories were: Strictly Necessary, Analytics, Advertising, Personalization, Social Media Embeds, and two additional categories whose function was not immediately clear from the labels. Each toggle had a description. The descriptions were accurate.

Actions Taken

The user clicked Accept All.

Under the governing rule, a cookie banner surrender may continue until the user trusts both the interface and the result at the same time. This condition has not been met on any recorded visit. The user accepted all cookies on this visit and on the fourteen prior visits to websites operated by unrelated organizations.

Analysis

The interface is technically clear. The options are present. The path to granular control exists and functions correctly.

The path requires reading six category descriptions, evaluating personal preferences across those categories, and toggling individual controls in an order that has no apparent consequence either way.

Accept All requires one click.

Current Status

The user has now opened a browser extension that is supposed to handle this automatically. The extension has not been configured. Configuration requires understanding a settings panel more complex than the original cookie banner.

The extension is enabled. Status: unknown.
