This correspondence is to formally note that the arithmetic has been received. The calculation was accurate. Seven minutes remain between the current alarm and the next one. This is correct.

It is also noted that the calculation took between forty-five and ninety seconds to complete, during which time the available seven minutes were actively diminishing. The final figure, upon delivery, was closer to five and a half minutes.

People calculate how much sleep remains between alarms while spending part of that time doing the calculation. This has been documented. No corrective action is requested.

The arithmetic was necessary. Without it, no informed decision about the snooze could be made.

The body is trying to disengage, but the mind keeps adding small conditions for permission to stop. This is not a malfunction.

Someone makes one minor adjustment for morning snooze arithmetic: the first alarm is now set three minutes earlier to absorb the calculation interval. The adjustment becomes part of the expected sequence and adds time to every repeat.

Under the governing rule, correcting morning snooze arithmetic requires more authority than repeating it. The required authority is unavailable at 6:43 a.m.

Eventually removing the adjustment requires a discussion longer than the behavior ever saved.

This is that discussion.

The alarm is about to go off.
