I am writing to inquire about the operational cadence at which platform assignment information is updated on digital departure boards.
My specific concern is as follows. I confirmed my platform number upon arrival at the station. I then confirmed it again approximately four minutes later. I confirmed it a third time after noticing that three other people also appeared to be confirming their platform numbers, which I interpreted as a possible signal that something had changed. Nothing had changed.
I have now confirmed my platform number five times in fourteen minutes. The platform number is the same each time. I understand rationally that a platform number, once assigned, does not typically change in the final minutes before departure. I continue to check because departure certainty, I have found, decays between confirmations even when the underlying information is stable.
My question is whether you can confirm that platform reassignment, when it occurs, is communicated through the boards I am already watching, and at what interval such reassignments are typically announced, so that I can calibrate my checking frequency to something closer to the actual information update rate.
I recognize this question reveals that I currently check at a rate disconnected from any information update schedule. I am aware of this. I am checking anyway.

Platform assignments are updated immediately upon any change. The board you are observing is current. Checking it more frequently than once will not produce different information unless the platform has been reassigned, in which case the board will already show the new platform.
We note that your email was sent from a waiting area near Platform 7, which is the platform you were assigned.
