By accepting an unscheduled Saturday (the "Blank Day"), the subject agrees to the following terms, which govern the use and experience of the Blank Day for its full duration.
Section 1: Definition
The Blank Day is defined as a calendar day containing zero scheduled commitments, zero pending deliverables, and no social obligations with fixed start times. The Blank Day was actively sought by the subject over a period of three weeks during which preceding Saturdays were occupied by obligations the subject described to others as "a lot lately."
Section 2: The Experience Problem
The subject is now in the Blank Day. The person who wanted unstructured time is now standing in the unstructured time deciding how to use it correctly. Correct use has not been defined. This was the point.
The blank day was the objective. The blank day, once achieved, requires management.
Section 3: Permitted Activities
The subject may do any of the following: rest, engage in leisure activities, pursue personal projects, conduct errand consolidation, engage in social contact not requiring advance scheduling, or choose no activity for a defined period. All of these options are acceptable uses of the Blank Day.

Section 4: The Productivity Adjacency Clause
If the subject elects to complete tasks during the Blank Day, this does not constitute a failure to use the Blank Day correctly, provided that the tasks were not deferred specifically to the Blank Day in a manner that converts it into an unscheduled work day. The subject has deferred two tasks to the Blank Day. The subject is aware this may constitute a violation of Section 4.
Section 5: The Governing Rule
Rest is a skill that atrophies under consistent scheduling pressure and requires reactivation following periods of dense obligation. The subject has been under dense obligation.
