Summary
At approximately 9:47 a.m., the subject reorganized the workspace. The reorganization included repositioning the notebook, adjusting the monitor angle, removing three items from the desk surface, and briefly considering the pen cup.
Scheduled creative work was due to begin at 9:30 a.m.
Timeline
9:28 a.m.: Work session initiated. Notebook opened. 9:30 a.m.: Uncertainty about the work itself became uncomfortable. 9:32 a.m.: Desk surface reassessment commenced. 9:47 a.m.: Reorganization complete. Desk in acceptable configuration. 9:48 a.m.: Notebook reopened. Uncertainty about the work itself remained present.
Contributing Factors
The preparation is genuinely useful in small doses, which makes it ideal camouflage for avoiding the difficult creative decision. The desk was not disorganized before the reorganization.
