Minutes Concerning Wallet Receipt Buildup

A record of the deliberations that did not occur and the receipts that therefore remain in the wallet.

Agenda

  1. Current receipt inventory
  2. Status of return period for affected items
  3. Next steps

Discussion

Item 1: Current receipt inventory. The wallet contains an estimated twelve receipts. Seven predate the return period for the associated items. Three are from transactions for which no return was ever contemplated. Two are from a restaurant and cannot be used for any financial purpose.

The meeting acknowledged that the receipts serve no immediate function. The meeting did not act on this acknowledgment.

A small workaround is created for wallet receipt buildup. The workaround is this: receipts are placed behind the cards rather than in front of them, which allows the wallet to close and removes them from daily operational view. This is not removal. This is reclassification.

Item 2: Return period status. The workaround produces a second check designed to confirm the first one worked. The second check occurs when the wallet is opened and its thickness is registered. The thickness confirms the receipts are still present. This information is filed and no action is taken.

People keep receipts in a wallet after the return period ends because removing them requires deciding they are useless. The decision has not been made. The receipts remain.

Item 3: Next steps. Soon the ordinary action has a parallel administrative system built around wallet receipt buildup. The system includes the behind-the-cards storage protocol, the thickness registration, and an unspoken agreement that the receipts are someone else's problem at a later date.

Actions

No actions were assigned. The arithmetic is accurate: the receipts are past their return date, present in the wallet, and serving no function. The conclusion changes depending on which number the person wants to emphasize.

The meeting noted the situation and adjourned.

Next meeting: Not scheduled.
