One person becomes the household's unofficial payment administrator for services nobody else remembers subscribing to.

MEETING MINUTES , Household Subscription Review Subject: Family Plan Organizer Status: Ongoing. No resolution reached.

The matter was raised again this billing cycle. One member of the household , the same member as last cycle, and the cycle before , has taken on administrative responsibility for a family plan that the other members access daily and discuss never. This is the third consecutive meeting at which the arrangement has been described as temporary.

Background. The original decision to subscribe was made collectively. The decision about who manages it was made by default. Defaults are not policies, but they function as policies once the billing cycle has repeated twice.

The service in question is used regularly. Its continued existence is defended whenever someone raises the question of cancellation, primarily by the same person who manages it. This may be coincidence. It may not be.

Findings.

The family plan organizer carries a disproportionate cognitive load relative to their share of the content. They remember the renewal date. They know the tier. They can name the individual accounts under the plan. No other household member can name all three.

The service feels optional on any given day. The billing statement treats it as permanent. This discrepancy is familiar and has not prompted action.

Under the governing rule, family plan organizer becomes procedure once repetition feels safer than reconsidering it. That threshold has now been crossed. The arrangement is no longer informal. It is policy.

Consequences documented at this meeting:

The family plan organizer survives one more billing cycle. The household begins planning around its continued existence. A service that entered the budget as a trial now occupies a line item no one has formally approved.

What was not resolved. Whether the organizer wants to continue. Whether the other members understand the work involved. Whether the service would survive a genuine vote.

A temporary service acquires permanent budget status the moment cancellation feels harder than paying. That moment occurred sometime before this meeting. The minutes reflect it accordingly.

These minutes will not be circulated. No follow-up is scheduled. The next billing date has already been noted by one person.
