Minutes Regarding Repeat Basket Editing

The practice of opening a saved grocery basket, editing it, and closing it without placing the order has been reported to occur on a recurring basis. These are the minutes.

MINUTES Standing Item: Repeat Basket Editing Session: Informal, Recurring

PRESENT: The basket editor. The basket.

ITEM ONE

The editor opened the saved basket at 7:42 PM. The basket contained twenty-three items selected during a previous session. The previous session also resulted in no order placement. The session before that also resulted in no order placement. A record of sessions resulting in order placement exists but is not recent.

ITEM TWO

The editor removed the orange juice. The editor had also removed the orange juice in two prior sessions. The orange juice was re-added to the basket between sessions by forces this record does not document. The editor confirms that re-adding occurred but declines to provide details.

ITEM THREE

The editor reviewed the basket items for approximately eleven minutes. During this time the editor moved one item from "4-pack" to "6-pack," deleted an item on the grounds that it was "probably still in the cabinet," added a replacement item on the grounds that the cabinet item was "actually probably gone by now," and hovered over the checkout button for a period this record estimates at between forty and sixty seconds.

ITEM FOUR

The editor did not place the order.

ITEM FIVE

The basket is a document, not an intention. This characterization was proposed during a prior session and is being repeated here because it has not been superseded by any other characterization. The basket records what the editor would order under conditions that have not yet fully presented themselves. What those conditions are has not been specified.

ITEM SIX

The terms and conditions of the platform governing saved baskets note that baskets are retained for sixty days from last edit. The basket has been edited every three to twelve days since its creation, which has maintained its active status continuously. This is either persistence or avoidance, and these minutes decline to assign a classification.

ITEM SEVEN

Session closed. Basket saved. Order not placed.

NEXT SESSION: Unscheduled.
