Notice Concerning Autofill Correction

EVIDENCE

The order form appeared. It contained eleven fields.

Autofill was offered. The user accepted. The form populated in approximately four seconds.

Under the governing rule, a autofill correction may continue until the user trusts both the interface and the result at the same time.

FINDINGS

Field 1 (Name): Correct. First and last name, full spelling. The user confirmed this by reading it.

Field 2 (Email): An old email address from a job the user left in 2021. This address still receives mail, technically, but it is not checked and was not the intended address. Corrected.

Field 3 (Phone): A number beginning with +44. The user lives in a country with a +91 code. The +44 number belongs to a phone the user used while traveling in 2019 and presumably provided to one website during that period. The +44 number has not been used since. It was stored and offered here with full confidence.

Field 4 (Address Line 1): Correct.

Field 5 (Address Line 2): The name of the previous apartment complex, which ceased to be relevant in 2022.

Field 6 (City): Correct.

Fields 7 through 11: Correct.

The interface completed the form faster than the user could have. The user then spent six minutes correcting the form's version of their own address.

CONCLUSION

Three of eleven fields were incorrect. All three errors were derived from autofill's record of the user's past. The past was accurate. The present was not represented.

The user developed a preferred sequence for checking autofill submissions: name, phone, email first, then address. This sequence was invented during this session and will be applied to future sessions.

Eventually success is trusted only when the interface has been manually doubted in the approved order.

The order was placed. The address was confirmed. The user briefly considered whether to update their autofill settings.

They did not update their autofill settings.
