At 10:47 this morning, I closed all twenty-three open tabs. I want to acknowledge this action and confirm that it was intentional.

The tabs had accumulated over several days. They represented research in progress, articles I intended to read, documentation for a project I had not yet started, and several things I had opened while looking for other things and had not closed because closing them would mean deciding they were no longer relevant.

Closing them was a decision. The decision felt significant.

By 11:12, sixteen of the twenty-three tabs had been reopened.

The governing rule: any tab closing productivity that feels like preparation may temporarily substitute for beginning the actual task.

I want to clarify that the reopened tabs are not the same as the original tabs. They are the same URLs, yes, and they contain the same content, yes, but the reopening was intentional. Each tab was assessed before being reopened. Several tabs were not reopened because I made the active decision not to reopen them.

Those seven tabs are gone. I consider this progress.

The sixteen remaining tabs represent active, current, necessary contexts for work that is now organized differently than before. The previous twenty-three tabs were clutter. These sixteen are a curated set.

I acknowledge that they look similar. I can confirm they are not.

The project that prompted the tab closure is in the same state as it was at 10:47. I have a cleaner browser environment in which to not start it.

I will close these tabs again when necessary.
