The camera was off. The person was sitting however they were sitting. The camera turned on. The posture has been revised.
PROCEEDINGS OF THE VIDEO CALL POSTURE INQUIRY WITNESS: A person who participated in a video call this morning

WITNESS: I was at my desk.
CHAIR: How were you sitting?
WITNESS: Comfortably. My back was against the chair. I may have been slightly reclined.
CHAIR: And when the call began?
WITNESS: I sat up.
CHAIR: You adjusted your posture when the camera turned on.
WITNESS: Yes.
CHAIR: Why?
WITNESS: Because people could see me.
CHAIR: Were the people who could see you in the same building as you?
WITNESS: No.
CHAIR: Were they in a position to comment on your posture?
WITNESS: They could have.
CHAIR: Did anyone comment on your posture?
WITNESS: No.
CHAIR: Did anyone notice your posture?
WITNESS: I don't know.
CHAIR: What did you do immediately after the call ended?
WITNESS: I returned to my normal position.
CHAIR: The reclined position.
WITNESS: Yes.
CHAIR: So the correct posture for your work, as you understand it, is the one you adopt when unobserved. And the camera posture is a performance for observers who did not request it.
WITNESS: When you say it like that.
CHAIR: I am saying it exactly as it occurred. You were comfortable, you became formal when observed, you became comfortable again when unobserved. The formality lasted forty-five minutes. Your back now reports mild stiffness.
WITNESS: Yes.
