The message was sent on Tuesday at 11:43am. It asked a reasonable question. It was seen by five people. None of them replied.

This was not because the question was unanswerable. The answer was known. The question was: "Can we move the Saturday plan to Sunday?"

The five people who saw it had opinions about this. Three of them preferred Sunday. One was indifferent. One preferred Saturday but was prepared to accept Sunday.

None of this was communicated on Tuesday.

By Thursday, the message had acquired age. Replying to it on Thursday would have required acknowledging that the reply had taken two days. This felt worse than the silence itself. The group reached an informal consensus, without discussion, that the message had entered a zone from which direct engagement was now awkward.

This consensus was never stated. It was simply observed.

On Friday at 2:18pm, someone sent a photo of a dog wearing a small hat. The dog was on a bicycle. It was unclear if this was a real bicycle or a prop. Twelve reactions appeared within four minutes.

At 2:23pm, someone replied to the Tuesday message. "Sunday works, by the way."

This appeared natural. The Friday photo had reset the thread. The Tuesday message was now old enough to answer without implying that five days had passed. Three more replies followed within the hour. The plan was settled.

Nobody acknowledged that the resolution required a dog on a bicycle to make it socially viable. Nobody commented on the fact that the information exchanged on Friday was identical to the information available on Tuesday.

The plan was now Sunday. The mechanism that produced this outcome was not discussed. It is not available for discussion. It will be used again.

The dog's name is not known. Its role in group logistics has not been formally recognized. It will not receive credit.
