Terms Governing Notification Batching Failure
Scheduled summaries are active and the apps are still being checked before the summaries arrive.
Terms Governing Notification Batching Failure Effective Upon First Occurrence, Retroactive to Prior Occurrences
Section 1. Definitions
"Notification Batching Failure" refers to the condition in which a person enables scheduled notification summaries and then checks the source applications before those summaries arrive. The alert is called noise while ignoring it creates more attention.
The feature is not malfunctioning. The user is checking early.
Section 2. Eligibility
These terms apply to any person who has, within the preceding seven days, described notification overload as a problem and, within the same period, opened a source application at least once before the scheduled summary delivered its contents.
Enrollment is automatic. No confirmation is required.
Section 3. Operative Conditions
Notification batching failure steals one extra check of the screen. The check becomes habitual even after alerts are muted. The user is now managing two notification systems: the one they configured and the one they perform manually before the first one runs.
Under the governing rule, notification batching failure becomes procedure once repetition feels safer than reconsidering it. A case checked twice without action remains eligible for a third check. No enrollment is required for the third check either.
Section 4. Escalation Pathway
The check becomes habitual. The habit absorbs the original function of the scheduled summary. Attention management turns into another inbox.
The user may, at this point, disable the scheduled summary on the grounds that it adds no value. This interpretation is permitted under these terms and is not considered a contradiction.
Section 5. Termination
These terms remain in effect until the user either stops checking early for thirty consecutive days or stops describing notifications as a problem. Both conditions are considered unlikely based on available data.
Section 6. Governing Clause
Any case of notification batching failure checked twice without action remains eligible for a third check. Repetition does not constitute consent. It constitutes procedure.
