Terms Governing Palette Rabbit Hole

Article I: Triggering Condition

These Terms are activated when a creative project requires a color decision and the creator opens a color tool to resolve it.

The color tool may be any combination of: an online palette generator, a reference site of pre-built palettes, a screenshot folder of color samples gathered from previous projects, or a search for "good color combinations 2025."

Article II: Initial Phase (Minutes 1 to 12)

A color is selected. The color is satisfying. A second color is selected to complement it. Both colors are placed against a white background. The combination is evaluated.

The combination requires a third color for balance.

Article III: Expansion Phase (Minutes 12 to 45)

The governing rule requires that the first imperfect draft may be delayed whenever palette rabbit hole offers a cleaner form of progress.

Palette Rabbit Hole makes the project feel more professional. Professionalism raises the standard for what the first real attempt is allowed to look like. The first attempt is then delayed because it now has to justify all the preparation that came before it.

Forty-five minutes have passed. The following exist: a primary palette (rejected), a secondary palette (possibly too saturated), a tertiary palette (saved but not committed to), and one hex code that is "exactly right" but requires surrounding colors that have not yet been determined.

Article IV: Lock-In Clause

The person who has twenty color options and no finished screen has not failed to decide. They have conducted an exhaustive selection process.

The project remains in its pre-draft state. This state is now better-prepared than it was before the color tool was opened.

Article V: Renewal

These Terms renew when the project is next opened and the subject reconsiders whether the palette selected last session was actually correct.
