The Office Observes Idea Note Cemetery
Hundreds of ideas were captured and none of them were returned to.

The notes application contains 347 entries. Forty-one are shopping lists. Twelve are passwords that no longer work. Two hundred and ninety-four are ideas.
The ideas are good. Several are very good. None have a second draft.

Ideas are captured quickly in notes because recording them feels safer than returning later to develop them. The recording is fast: a sentence, a fragment, sometimes only a phrase. The phrase is enough. The phrase will make sense later. Later is when development happens.
Later is not scheduled.

The governing rule is observed across all entries: any task adjacent to making may replace making while idea note cemetery still feels productive. Capturing is adjacent to making. It is the step before making. It is the step that can be repeated indefinitely without producing the thing that making produces.

Eventually the support work becomes a complete project orbiting an unfinished center. The center is development: sitting with one idea long enough to make it imperfect. The support work is everything around that center, maintained in excellent condition.
The person with hundreds of brilliant fragments and no second drafts has one note that says: "return to this one." The note was added in February. The note has not been returned to.
The idea note cemetery grows. Each entry is a beginning.
