AI answer social proof adds one private manual check. The check involves cross-referencing the AI output against what a trusted colleague has said or is likely to say. If the colleague confirms the answer, the subject proceeds with higher confidence. If the colleague's view differs, the subject re-evaluates the AI output but does not disclose that an AI output was the starting point.
The help is useful enough to use and awkward enough to disguise. This is the finding that has remained stable across the review period. The tool produces good output. Good output carries a soft obligation to acknowledge its source. The acknowledgment produces social friction the subject has consistently judged not worth creating.
That check becomes part of the normal workflow. The subject no longer experiences the cross-referencing step as a validation of the AI. They experience it as due diligence.
