A dedicated digital folder for vaccination records was created. It contains two files. The first is the appointment confirmation from February. The second is a screenshot of the OTP message from the same day. Both are also available in the original message thread, the email inbox, and the Digilocker app that was downloaded specifically for this purpose and used twice.
The Folder Persists
A temporary workaround became the default because it worked once. The workaround was the folder. Before the folder, the documents lived in various places. The folder resolved this by adding one more place, which is the place that now feels authoritative.
Other people began planning around the workaround. In practical terms: before the family member's second dose appointment, there was a question about whether the first certificate was saved. It was. The folder was the answer. The folder was praised. The folder is now the family's vaccination record system.

The Uncertainty That Generates the Check
The check is meant to reduce uncertainty. Repeating it creates another reason to check. The original uncertainty was: will the certificate generate correctly. The answer was yes. The new uncertainty is: does the certificate that generated correctly still exist in the correct format in the correct folder. The answer is also yes. The check continues regardless.
An inconvenient ritual becomes official when stopping it would require a new decision. The decision would be: where, exactly, will we keep these if not in the folder. This decision has not been made. The folder therefore remains active.

Current Status
The folder contains two files and has been opened eleven times since its creation. Eight of those openings confirmed that the two files were still present. Three of those openings were to show someone else that the files were present.
