Annual Review of Meal Prep Abandonment

Review Period: This Year (Same as Last Year) Subject: The Recurring Sunday Project Finding: Consistent with Prior Findings

Executive Summary

Meal prep was undertaken with enthusiasm. Meal prep was partially abandoned by Tuesday. This outcome is consistent with documented results from the previous twelve months, the twelve months before that, and a period prior to systematic tracking when the same outcome occurred and went unrecorded.

Q1 Review (January – March)

January opened strongly. A new container set was purchased. The containers were labeled. Three different types of vegetables were cut on a single Sunday afternoon, generating a volume of chopped food that produced visible satisfaction in the participant.

Wednesday arrived. The participant ordered food.

The containers were used for approximately one and a half weeks before their presence began creating mild guilt rather than convenience. The containers were washed. The containers were stored.

February saw no meal prep. This was classified, at the time, as a break.

March involved one attempt. Tuesday again. Consistent.

Q2 Review (April – June)

A new technique was introduced: prepare fewer things, more simply, with lower commitment. This technique extended the functional window to Thursday once, in April.

Repetition turned the technique into kitchen wisdom. The participant recommended it to a colleague in May.

The participant ordered food on Wednesday in May.

Q3 Review (July – September)

The behavior is predictable. Predictability, per internal metrics, counts as proof of success.

The containers are out. Sunday is approaching.

Key Insights

Meal prep abandonment becomes policy after its second instance. It has now had many instances. Each instance begins with a period of genuine optimism that the data does not support but that evidence has not yet discouraged.

Skipping meal prep started looking like a failure of personal organization several years ago, which is why the ritual continues despite its arc.

Recommendation

No recommendation is offered. Recommendations have been tried.

Q4 review will be conducted in December, approximately forty-eight hours after the last Q4 meal prep attempt.
