These terms govern the creation, retention, revision, and ultimate disposition of email or message replies that are drafted but not sent, and retained in the drafts folder pending conditions that have not been specified.
Section 1: Creation. A reply-tomorrow draft is created when a user reads a message that requires a response, begins composing a reply, determines that the reply is not ready to send, and saves it to the drafts folder or its equivalent. By saving the draft, the user accepts all terms herein.
Section 2: Retention. The draft will be retained until sent, deleted, or discovered during a drafts-folder audit that occurs when the user is looking for something else. The draft does not expire. The urgency of the original message may expire independently of the draft.
Section 3: Revision obligations. A draft retained for more than forty-eight hours may require revision upon next opening, as the circumstances that produced the original draft language may no longer fully apply. The user accepts that each revision session restarts the forty-eight-hour clock.
Section 4: Contextual drift. By retaining the draft for more than seventy-two hours, the user acknowledges that the original message may have been followed up, resolved through other channels, or overtaken by events. The user agrees to assess contextual drift before sending and to revise accordingly, which restarts the clock.
The absurd rule that these terms encode is that the draft is always slightly wrong, and making it right takes long enough that it becomes slightly wrong again.
The contradiction is that the message was not sent because it was not ready, and it has been made less ready by not being sent.
Section 5: Disposition. The draft will be sent, revised indefinitely, or deleted during a moment of inbox management accompanied by mild relief. All outcomes are compliant with these terms.
