Applicant Statement
The applicant, hereinafter the Buyer, submits this application regarding an incident that occurred at 7:43 PM during a weekly grocery order review. The order, when assembled, totalled an amount the Buyer describes as "more than expected." The Buyer then reviewed each line item individually.
Chronology of Events
The cart contained the following categories of items: staples, fresh produce, one nonessential item described as a "treat purchase," and two items the Buyer identifies as "inflation-impacted." The treat purchase was a packet of imported biscuits. The inflation-impacted items were cooking oil and a packet of pulses.
At checkout, the Buyer took one nonessential item out of the cart after seeing the final total. The item removed was the biscuits.
The Buyer notes for the record that the biscuits were Rs. 120, and that the cooking oil was Rs. 195, which is Rs. 40 more than the cooking oil was in September. The cooking oil was not removed.
