Correspondence Regarding Tomorrow List

FROM: Today's list TO: Tomorrow's list RE: Transfer of task — third consecutive day DATE: The seventeenth SUBJECT: This task again

Tomorrow,

I am writing to transfer the following task to your list for tomorrow, which will be the fourth consecutive day on which it appears. As you may be aware, the task has previously been scheduled for the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth, and on each occasion has been transferred to the following day for reasons that were individually valid at the time.

Today's reasons were:

• The morning did not feel right for this type of task.
• There was an unexpected item in the late morning that required attention.
• By the afternoon, the task felt like the wrong item to end the day on.
• The evening seemed close enough to tomorrow that starting today created an awkward partial state.

These reasons are accurate. They are also a continuation of a pattern that has been described as individually valid on three previous occasions and which is beginning to look like a series.

I want to be transparent about this.

Today,

Thank you for the transfer. I accept the task and have added it to the schedule for tomorrow.

I want to note that I currently have seven items. The task being transferred is the third item I have received from you in consecutive days. I am also holding two items from last week and one item from the week before, both of which arrived under similar circumstances.

I am not declining the transfer. I am noting that my capacity is not unlimited. I want to be accurate about what tomorrow looks like before it arrives and becomes today, at which point we will need to have this conversation again.

Tomorrow is still available. The task is scheduled.

The fifteenth said the same thing.
