Floor Price Memory Has Entered Review

There is a number from several months ago. It was the floor price at a moment when a floor price felt like a fact worth remembering. The person remembers it clearly. They remember it more clearly than the current price.

This is the first symptom.

The Review Process

The current price is checked. The current price is different. This is not surprising. Prices change. The review process is not about verifying that prices change.

The review process is about verifying that the remembered number was real.

It was real. The problem is that reality has continued without it.

The Checking Behavior

The check takes approximately forty seconds. It produces no new information that would permit any different action. The mood at the end of the check is different from the mood at the beginning, in a direction that varies by day and is difficult to forecast.

The check is performed again tomorrow.

The original check did not help. The second check is conducted because the first check did not help. This is the logic.

The Governing Rule

Uncertainty, if it is checked repeatedly under identical conditions, eventually resolves. This rule has not been verified. It operates nonetheless. The person who believes they cannot make a decision without checking has converted checking into a category of decision.

The decision made is: check again.

What Was Expected

The floor price was supposed to stay above a number that justified owning it. The number was not supposed to become the primary relationship. The chart was supposed to confirm confidence, not constitute it.

It is April 2022. The chart is doing something.

The check takes forty seconds.
