HEARING TRANSCRIPT: ONE MORE CLIP LOOP Convened January 2023
CHAIR: This hearing is called to determine when, during a sequence of short video clips, intentional viewing ends and structural continuation begins. State your initial position.
WITNESS: I intended to watch one clip. Then one more. That is the complete account.
CHAIR: How many clips were watched?
WITNESS: The number is not relevant to the question of intent.
CHAIR: The hearing disagrees. How many clips were watched?
WITNESS: Eleven. Possibly twelve. The count is approximate.
CHAIR: At which point did you decide to watch clips four through twelve?
WITNESS: I did not decide. Each clip was followed by another clip. I watched the next clip.
CHAIR: And when you said "one more clip," which clip were you referring to?
WITNESS: The next one at the time of saying it.
CHAIR: Did the statement "one more clip" ever prove accurate?
WITNESS: It was accurate for approximately three seconds after each recitation.
CHAIR: One More Clip Loop extends the break by exactly one clip per iteration. The feed removes clear boundaries between the next clips. Would you agree with this description of the mechanism?
WITNESS: I would agree that the mechanism is accurately described. I would not agree that the description was available to me at the time.
