The housemate who develops a preferred corner of the shared blanket and notices when someone else takes it.
What Was Found
The blanket in question is a standard full-size blanket used by two people on a large sofa. The blanket has four corners. Three corners are considered equivalent. One corner is not.
The preferred corner is the upper-left when held in standard blanket orientation. It is thicker at this corner due to how the blanket was folded during manufacture and how it has been used since. It is also slightly fluffier. These characteristics were not selected. They were discovered, and then they were remembered.
Mechanism of Ownership
Ownership of the preferred corner was not claimed publicly. No announcement was made. No verbal arrangement was reached. The corner was simply used, repeatedly, on all occasions involving the blanket, until the pattern became legible.
The second occupant learned the pattern within two weeks. On one occasion, the second occupant took the preferred corner by accident, during a rearrangement. The first occupant said nothing. The first occupant's silence contained sufficient information.
The second occupant has since avoided the upper-left corner.
The Governing Rule
Any blanket corner ownership that survives three cleanups must be treated as permanent household infrastructure. The blanket has been washed six times during the period under review. On each occasion it was returned to the sofa in its standard orientation. The preferred corner returned to its position.

Adjacent Developments
A small part of the room is quietly reassigned to support the blanket corner ownership. The preferred side of the sofa has also, separately, become a preferred side of the sofa. This is technically a different arrangement but has informally merged with the blanket question.
Status
The preferred corner is stable. No challenge is anticipated. Eventually moving it requires consensus, historical evidence, and a reopening of the domestic constitution.
