Overview

Work on the personal video project was initiated on January 28. As of this report, no editing has occurred. The project is a two-minute video. The tutorials, if stacked end to end, would run for nine hours and forty minutes.

Tutorial Inventory (to date)

• Introduction to CapCut: 22 minutes. Watched in full. Notes taken on three separate pages of a physical notebook. CapCut was not subsequently opened.
• Premiere Pro for Beginners (Parts 1-7): 4 hours, 11 minutes. Premiere Pro is not installed.
• "The REAL way to edit videos": 18 minutes. Described by the creator as a corrective to bad habits. Watched before any habits had been formed.
• Color Grading Fundamentals: 47 minutes. Relevant to a project involving no significant color.
• How I Edit My Vlogs: 31 minutes. The creator has 1.4 million subscribers. Their workflow involves a $3,000 camera rig.

Under the governing rule, once tutorial before attempt produces a feeling of progress, real progress may be postponed without immediate penalty.

Detour Tasks Generated

The research phase produced four sub-tasks, each of which has been completed:

1. Comparison chart: seven editing apps, twelve criteria
2. Storage audit to confirm hard drive space for project files
3. Font selection for potential title cards
4. Review of aspect ratio best practices

None of these tasks required the video to be edited.

Current Blocking Item

The subject reports the project cannot begin until they have watched a tutorial specifically on audio syncing, as they encountered a brief mention of audio sync issues in Tutorial 3 and are concerned this will affect the project. The audio sync tutorial is forty minutes long.
