Preliminary Findings on Grocery Order Overlap
Two members of the same household submitted separate grocery orders for the same delivery window without prior coordination. This is the preliminary report.

BACKGROUND
On the date in question, two members of the same household submitted separate grocery delivery orders to the same platform for delivery within the same two-hour window. Neither member was aware of the other's order at the time of submission. Both orders were placed in good faith. Both were fulfilled.
The resulting delivery included redundant quantities of several items. This report documents those quantities and their consequences.
ITEM ONE: EGGS
The first order included one standard dozen. The second order included one half-dozen. The household now holds fourteen eggs. Household baseline consumption of eggs is approximately four per week under normal conditions, though conditions have not been normal since March 2020, which this office acknowledges has affected baseline calculations across multiple product categories.
Fourteen eggs at four per week represents approximately three and a half weeks of consumption. Egg shelf life is three to five weeks from pack date, with variation by storage method. The margin is adequate but not comfortable.
ITEM TWO: MILK
Both orders included one two-liter unit of whole milk. Current stock now stands at four liters. This office notes that four liters is a quantity associated with households of larger size or higher consumption frequency than is present here.
The milk will not be wasted. This is a preliminary finding, not a guarantee.
ITEM THREE: THE ITEM NEITHER PARTY RECALLS ORDERING
One unit of a dried legume product, variety unspecified on the order confirmation, appeared in the second delivery. Neither party recalls selecting this item. It has been placed in the pantry. Its eventual use is not documented in any household plan currently under review.
STRUCTURAL FINDING
The overlap occurred because each party assumed the other had not ordered groceries. This assumption was reasonable. It was also held simultaneously by both parties about the same situation, which is the mechanism by which reasonable assumptions produce unreasonable outcomes.
A coordination protocol has been verbally proposed. Its implementation has not been confirmed.
