- DEFINITIONS
"Algorithm mind reading" refers to the experience in which a short video feed surfaces a topic the user discussed offline within the previous 48 hours. This includes but is not limited to: conversations conducted in the presence of a device, searches conducted by someone the user knows, and topics that are statistically likely given the user's demographic profile, location, and behavioral history.
- ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Someone feels unsettled when a short video feed surfaces a topic they discussed recently offline. The user acknowledges this is not the first time. The user acknowledges the experience was repeated at least four times in the prior month. The user has taken no action in response to any prior instance.
- CONTINUATION OF SERVICES
Each clip is easy to leave while the feed removes a natural stopping point. Under the governing rule, algorithm mind reading becomes procedure once repetition feels safer than reconsidering it. By returning to the feed following an instance of unsettlement, the user agrees that the inconvenience was insufficient to constitute a reason to stop.
- BREAK RECLASSIFICATION
Algorithm mind reading extends the break by one clip. The user opened the feed during a break. The feed removed clear boundaries between the next clips. The break became a session. The user consents to this reclassification.
- SCOPE
By continuing to use the feed, the user accepts that topics mentioned near a device may reappear on a device. The mechanism is not confirmed. Whether the mechanism is advertising inference, behavioral modeling, demographic correlation, or actual microphone access is a question the terms do not address.
The break becomes a session requiring a separate act of will.
- TERMINATION
The user may close the app. The subject of the video will remain available for consideration for up to several hours following closure. These terms remain in effect.
